This toilet paper tube ghost is an easy Halloween kids craft. Learn how to make this hanging ghost craft with your kids today.
My daughter and I made this craft in an afternoon. It is so easy to make and once you have your supplies gathered, it may be a 5 minute Halloween craft.
I love that I didn’t have to buy anything to make these ghost decorations. We always have toilet paper tubes lying around and we used leftover white crepe paper from party decorations. If you don’t have crepe paper, you can use tissue paper.
You can make friendly ghosts or scary ones. My daughter wanted to make friendly ghosts and my son wanted me to make scary ghosts.
We used fishing line to hang our ghosts (we raided my husband’s fishing supplies), so the string wouldn’t be seen. If you don’t have fishing line, you can use white yarn or string.
My daughter wanted to hang these outside, however since they are made out of cardboard and paper, they wouldn’t last in the rain.
We have them hanging in our window.

Toilet Paper Tube Ghost Supplies
- Toilet paper tube
- White paper
- Scissors
- Glue
- Crepe paper
- Black marker
- Hole punch
- Fishing line or string
Toilet Paper Tube Ghost Instructions
Cut the white paper into a rectangle the same width as the toilet paper tube and then wrap the toilet paper tube in the white paper. We used a glue stick to glue the paper to the tube.
Draw a face on the white toilet paper tube with the black marker.
Cut 3 strips of crepe paper. You can add more crepe paper if you want.
Glue the crepe paper strips to the inside bottom of the toilet paper tube.
Using a hole punch, punch a hole in the back of your ghost.
Put fishing line through the hole and tie into a loop. This will allow you to hang your ghost craft.

Ways To Modify This Craft
If you don’t have crepe paper, you can use white tissue paper. If you don’t have either crepe paper or tissue paper, you can get creative. You can use white yarn or white pieces of paper.
You can use either string, yarn or fishing line to hang your ghost. Just use what you have at home.
