We have been making a lot of St. Patrick’s Day crafts and green shamrocks. Today, I will be sharing something different than the traditional green shamrock. An Irish shamrock.

Green, white, and orange are the colors of the Irish flag. Today we are making shamrocks using the colors of the Irish flag.

This was also a great opportunity for us to look up Ireland and the flag. I love it when a craft becomes a learning opportunity.

Irish Shamrock Craft Instructions:

Cut out a heart shape from the green, orange and white paper. These will be the shamrock’s leaves.

Nex, place the white heart in the center. Place the green heart on the left and the orange heart on the right, lining up the points of the hearts in the center. Then, glue the points of the heart together.

Next, cut a stem from the green construction paper.

Then, glue the stem on the shamrock.

Ways To Adapt This Craft

You can use 3 green hearts to make a traditional green shamrock. Or if you want to make a 4 leaf clover, you can use 4 green hearts.

If you are making this craft with young children, it may be easier to cut the hearts out ahead of time.
