To be honest, we usually don’t make any crafts for Cinco de Mayo. This year, I wanted to do something creative with my kids, so we made these adorable taco people.
They had a blast coloring, cutting, and gluing everything together. The best part? Watching them make their taco people dance with the wiggly arms and legs.
My kids decided their taco people needed extra bright colors. It was fun to see their creativity come to life. By the end, we had a whole group of taco people ready for a Cinco de Mayo celebration.
This taco person craft was so easy to make. Plus, since it’s a free printable, it’s super easy to set up. All you need are some basic craft supplies.

How to Make a Taco Person

Step 1: Print
Download and print the taco person template. See link below.
Step 2: Color
Use crayons, markers, or colored pencils to color your taco person.
We used crayons to color the taco and the hat. We used construction paper for the arms, legs, hands, and boots.
Step 3: Cut
Carefully cut along the lines.
Step 4: Fold the Arms and Legs
Fold the arms and legs back and forth like an accordion. This will give your taco person fun, bouncy limbs.
Step 5: Glue
- Glue the sombrero to the top of the taco.
- Then, glue the arms to each side of the taco.
- Glue the legs to the bottom of the taco.
- Next, glue the hands onto the arms.
- Glue the boots to the legs.
And just like that, you have an adorable taco person ready for Cinco de Mayo. This craft is great for classrooms, parties, or just a fun afternoon at home.
