Draw and cut out a flowerpot from the construction paper.
Next, trace your child’s hand on the green construction paper. Then, cut out your child’s handprint. This will be the stem of your flower.
Glue the flower pot on the white paper. Then, glue the handprint at the top of the flowerpot. See picture.
Dip your child’s finger into the washable paint. Press the painted finger at the top of your handprint.
We used yellow or orange fingerprints for the center of the flower and our thumbprints to make the flower petals.
Let the paint dry completely. If you want, you can write a message on the flowerpot and your child’s name and date. Enjoy your handprint flower with flowerpot craft.
Ways to Modify This Craft
Instead of cutting out your child’s handprint, you can paint his hand and press it onto the paper.
If you don’t want to use your child’s fingerprints for the flowers, you can always cut out flower shapes from colored paper or use flower stickers.
