Keepsake Hand Flower Craft For Kids

This hand flower craft makes the perfect gift for moms or grandparents. Make this craft extra special by adding your child’s picture.

I absolutely love this adorable hand flower craft. I got the idea from my child’s daycare teacher. I received this as a Mother’s Day gift from my toddler child.

I treasure it and I keep it framed on my nightstand. I knew that I had to share this keepsake craft with you.

This makes a perfect keepsake Mother’s Day gift. I have also used it for birthdays and grandparents’ day.

Hand Flower Craft Instructions

Step 1: Trace your child’s hand on the yellow construction paper. Cut out 5 handprints. These will be the flower petals.

Step 2: Trace your child’s hand on the green construction paper. Cut out 2 handprints. These will be the leaves of the flower.

Step 3: Next, cut out a circle from the black construction paper. This will be the center of the flower.

Step 4: Then, cut out a rectangle from the green construction paper. This will be the stem of the flower.

Step 5: Glue the flower stem (green rectangle) to the center of the white paper. Glue the black circle to the top of the flower stem.

Step 6: Glue a picture of your child in the center of the flower.

Step 7: Then, glue your child’s yellow handprints around the center of the flower for the flower petals. See picture below.

Step 8: Print the free flowerpot template (see link below). Then, use the template to cut out the flowerpot from orange construction paper.

If you want, write a message on the flower pot.

Step 9: Glue the flowerpot to the bottom of the flower.

How to make a hand sunflower craft for kids.

Step 10: Glue 1 green handprint to each side of the flower stem. See picture below.
