Check out this dinosaur suncatcher craft. This kids craft uses tissue paper and glue. Perfect craft for a dinosaur lover.
My son loves, loves, loves dinosaurs. He has a ton of dinosaur toys. Is your child obsessed with dinosaurs?
My son loved the idea of making a dinosaur suncatcher for his room.
He had fun making this dinosaur craft, however, it can be messy. I kept a wet paper towel close by and he wiped his hands when they got sticky.
You can also use contact paper to make this suncatcher craft, it wouldn’t be as messy.

Dinosaur Suncatcher Supplies:
- wax paper
- sharpie
- scrap pieces of tissue paper
- glue
- paper cup
- paint brush
- hole punch
Dinosaur Suncatcher Instructions:
Using a sharpie, trace dinosaur onto wax paper. I traced dinosaur clipart.
Cut tissue paper into small squares. I used different shades of gree tissue paper. I also made 1 circle out of blue tissue paper for the eye.
Mix 2 parts glue with 1 part water in a paper cup.
Paint glue mixture onto wax paper dinosaur. I found it was easier with a foam paint brush.
Place squares of tissue paper onto the glue mixture that is on the wax paper dinosaur. The tissue paper squares can be placed outside of the lines because you will cut out the dinosaur shape.
Once the dinosaur is covered with squares of tissue paper, paint a thin layer of glue mixture over completed dinosaur.
Let dry completely. Cut out the dinosaur from the wax paper. Using a hole punch, punch a hole at top of dinosaur.
Hang your dinosaur suncatcher in your window and enjoy.
Ways To Adapt This Craft
Using contact paper will make this craft easier and less messy. Just draw your dinosaur onto the contact paper. Place your squares of tissue paper on the sticky side of the contact paper.
