This caramel apple craft is a fun fall kids craft. It is easy to make and looks good enough to eat. A keepsake autumn craft as the caramel is your child’s handprint.
Towards the end of August, I start thinking about fall. I love pumpkins and apple picking. A favorite fall treat of course is a sweet caramel apple.
Today’s craft reminds me of fall. These paper caramel apples are even cuter with your child’s handprint.
Your child can make any color apple he wants. He can make a red, green, or yellow apple. Let them be creative and pick their own colors.
I used leftover sprinkles, which I think makes it look more realistic. If you don’t have sprinkles, you can use glitter or color sprinkles on your caramel.

Caramel Apple Craft Instructions
Decide if you are going to make a red apple or a green apple. My daughter likes red apples, so she made a red one. My son likes green apples so he made a green one.
For this tutorial, I will make a red apple.
Draw or trace an apple shape on red construction paper. Cut out the apple shape.
Trace your child’s hand on the brown construction paper. Cut out the handprint. This will be the caramel for the apple.
Glue the brown hand to the top of the red apple shape. You may need to trim the top of the hand. (I had to do some trimming to get it to look like the apple shape).
Add glue to the top of the hand and add sprinkles or glitter. I had leftover sprinkles from cookie baking, so I used them.
If you don’t have any sprinkles or glitter, you can draw sprinkles on your caramel apple. Or you could leave it plain. Let your child decorate it how she likes.
Glue a craft stick to the bottom of your paper apple. If you don’t have any craft sticks, you can use a paper brown rectangle.
Enjoy your caramel apple craft for kids. They look good enough to eat.
Ways To Modify This Craft
Instead of tracing your child’s hand on brown paper, you could paint your child’s handprint on the apple. Just paint your child’s hand brown and press it down towards the top of the apple.
