Shape Scarescrow Instructions
You will need 1 circle (scarecrow’s head), 1 triangle (scarecrow’s hat), 1 small triangle (scarecrow’s nose), 1 square (scarecrow’s body), 2 rectangles (scarecrow’s legs), 1 large rectangle (scarecrow’s arms), and 2 small squares (scarecrow’s patches) cut from different colors of construction paper.
Or you can print the free shape template. To print, click on the picture below or you can download it to your computer.
Once the shapes template is printed, cut out the shapes and trace around them on the construction paper. Then, cut out the colored shapes.
Next, cut small rectangles from yellow construction paper. I cut a long thin strip and then cut the thin strip into small rectangles. This will be the straw for the scarecrow.
Then, glue yellow small rectangles and the triangle hat to the circle head.
Next, glue the head to the square body.
Then, glue 2 rectangle legs to the body.
Glue the large rectangle across the back of the scarecrow. This makes the scarecrow’s arms.
Next, glue 2 small squares to each leg of the scarecrow. This will be patches for the scarecrow’s pants.
Next, glue 2 googly eyes and a small triangle nose to the head of the scarecrow.
Glue yellow small rectangles to the ends of each of the arms and legs.
Using a black marker, draw a smile on the face. Then, draw stitches on the patches.
Then, glue a craft stick to the bottom of the scarecrow.
I hope you enjoy making this shape scarecrow craft with your kids.
