Learn how to make a colorful fall leaf painting with the leaves in your yard. Fun fall craft for elementary kids.
My kids love nature and they love to hike. They had the past 2 days off of school and we spent the past 2 days hiking on the same trail.
They wanted to go on the same trail both days. I offered to take them to another trail, but they wanted the same trail. Moms, I know you can relate.
This time of year is one of my favorite for hikes, the leaves are starting to change colors and fall from the trees.
The second time we went on the trail, we brought paper bags with us to collect the colorful fall leaves. I knew we could turn them into easy fall kids crafts.
My kids loved collecting different leaves and of course we ended up with more leaves than we needed. My kids also grabbed pinecones, so be on the lookout for pinecone crafts.
Today, I am sharing the leaf painting craft we made with our colorful leaves.
First you need to collect some colorful fall leaves. You can either get them from your yard or a local park or hiking trail.
We used painter’s tape when we made this fall craft. The painter’s tape held the leaf in place while my daughter painted around the leaves. And the painter’s tape, made it easy to remove the leaves.
You can add as much or as little paint as you want to your paper. I covered all of my paper with paint and only left the white leaves.
My daughter just painted around her leaves and left more white areas. My daughter’s painting disappeared before I could take a picture. I think she hung it on her wall.
This is why I love art and crafting. There isn’t a right or wrong way to do it. Just let your kids use their creativity to create beautiful masterpieces.
