Learn how to make this cute toilet paper tube cardinal bird craft with your kids today. So simple to make.
Today’s craft was inspired by my son. He came to me with a toilet paper tube and feathers and said he wanted to make a bird craft.
I asked him what kind of bird he wanted to make and he said cardinal because it is his favorite bird.
We had a great time designing this bird and he made it all by himself. We hope you and your kids enjoy making this cardboard tube bird craft together.
This cardboard roll bird can be as easy or as difficult as you like.
It can be as simple as taking a toilet paper tube and taping or glueing feathers to it.
Or it can be many steps such as painting the toilet paper roll and then gluing the feathers.
For this cardinal bird craft, we taped construction paper to a toilet paper roll. We thought tape would be easier than glue.
Then, we taped feathers for the wings. Next, we added googly eyes and a beak.
For the feet, my son drew bird’s feet onto brown paper and we cut them out and taped them to the cardinal craft.

Next, glue or tape feathers to the cardboard tube.
Glue 2 googly eyes. Cut a small diamond shape from the orange construction paper and fold in half (this will be the bird’s beak). Glue the beak to the cardboard tube.
