Paper Plate Elephant Instructions
Step 1: Paint the paper plate.
You can paint your paper plate elephant any color that you like. We used blue paint. Let the paint dry completely.
Step 2: Cut the paper plate.
Cut the bottom and top edges off of the painted paper plate. Do not throw these pieces away, they will be used to form the elephant’s trunk.
Step 3: Make the elephant’s trunk.
Glue the 2 edge pieces of the paper plate together to form the elephant’s trunk. These are the 2 edges you cut off of the plate in step 2.
Step 4: Glue the elephant’s trunk.
Glue the elephant’s trunk on the bottom of your cut painted paper plate.
Step 5: Add eyes.
Glue googly eyes on your elephant. If you don’t have googly eyes, you can draw eyes for your elephant.
Step 6: Enjoy your paper plate elephant craft.
I hope you enjoy making this paper plate elephant craft with your kids.
Ways To Adapt This Craft
This elephant craft can easily be turned into an elephant mask. Instead of placing googly eyes, you can cut out eye holes. You can put a hole in each of the elephant’s ears and tie yarn. This will keep the mask on your child’s head.
