Turn your next road trip into a fun adventure with this road signs scavenger hunt. Fun road trip game for kids and families.
Looking for a fun way to keep kids entertained during a long car ride? Try a road signs scavenger hunt. It’s easy and it keeps kids busy.
We did this on our last road trip, and it was a hit. My kids were excited every time they spotted a new sign. It turned our long drive into a fun game.
Before we left, I printed a list of road signs. I included things like “Stop Sign,” “Speed Limit,” “No U-Turn,” and “School Zone.” I made sure there were easy ones and a few tricky ones to keep it fun.
Each child had their own sheet and a pencil. Every time they found a sign, they marked it off. Some signs were easy to find. Others took a while. That made it even more exciting when they finally saw them.
To make things easier and reusable, I like to put the printable road trip games in a page protector. Then I place the page protector in a three-ring binder. Each child gets their own binder to keep everything organized.
They use a dry erase marker to check off the road signs as they find them. This way, we can reuse the same sheet on future trips too.
This activity is great for kids. It’s a great way to practice observation skills, reading, and road safety.
You can even offer a small prize at the end for extra fun. Maybe a treat at the next gas stop or letting them pick the music for a while.
Want to try this with your family? I’ve created a printable road sign scavenger hunt you can use. This simple road trip activity turned our car ride into an adventure. I hope it does the same for you.
