Fourth of July Scavenger Hunt for Kids

Celebrate the Fourth of July with a fun scavenger hunt for kids. This free summer activity is perfect for summer celebrations.

Summer is almost here and that means that the Fourth of July is fast approaching. The parades, fireworks, and celebrations of Independence Day make it a fun holiday. This year, we added a new tradition—a Fourth of July scavenger hunt.

Our family always looks forward to the Fourth. But sometimes, the day feels long—especially for the little kids who get bored waiting for fireworks or the parade. That’s why I made this fun scavenger hunt.

It’s an easy way to keep kids entertained while still celebrating the holiday. You don’t need anything fancy—just print the list and grab a pencil (we also grab a clipboard). You can look for the items in your backyard, at a picnic, or even while walking around the neighborhood.

We tried this last year, and it was a hit. The kids ran around pointing out flags, spotting ice cream cones, and racing to find everything on the list. Best of all, it kept them busy during a slow time of the holiday celebration.

This scavenger hunt is great for kids. If you want, you can even turn it into a friendly competition. You can even offer a small prize for the winner.
