This cute sled ornament makes a keepsake Christmas gift. The painted wreath is made with your child’s fingerprints and don’t forget to add a picture of your child. This is an adorable Christmas kids craft.
I love ornaments with my child’s picture. My Christmas tree displays lots of memories. It always amazes me how much they grow in one year.
This kid’s Christmas craft will make a great gift for parents or grandparents. My daughter gave me a similar ornament when she was in kindergarten (that is where I got this idea from).
If you want to save time, you can use painted craft sticks. I usually buy painted craft sticks at the Dollar Tree. Painted craft sticks are less messy than painting your own craft sticks.
We made the wreath on the ornament with our painted fingerprints. To make this less messy, you can use a Q-tip to paint the wreath.
For this post online I used a picture of a snowman instead of my child’s picture. You would want to use your child’s picture.

Sled Ornament Craft Supplies:
- 7 red craft sticks
- 2 green craft sticks
- red washable paint
- green washable paint
- 1 sheet white paper
- small piece of yarn
- glue
- scissors
- black marker
Sled Ornament Craft Instructions:
Lay the 2 green craft sticks horizontal with space between the green craft sticks.
Next, put glue on the 2 green craft sticks.
Then, place the red craft sticks vertically on the green craft sticks. Place the center red craft stick higher than the other craft sticks. Then, place 3 craft sticks on each side of the center craft stick of varying heights.
Draw a 2 inch circle on a piece of white paper.
Paint your child’s little finger with red washable paint and randomly press red fingerprints on the circle. Paint another finger with green washable paint and press green dots around the circle.
Tip: Just put the paint on the tip of the fingers. If the fingerprint is too big, there will not be room for your child’s picture.
Carefully cut out the fingerprint wreath, including the center of the wreath.
Then, glue the wreath to the center of the sled. Glue a picture of your child in the center of the wreath. For the purpose of this blog, I used a snowman picture.
Tie yarn around each side of the top green craft stick.
Don’t forget to write your child’s name and year on the green craft sticks.
