Ghost Suncatcher Instructions

Print the free ghost templates. I included 3 ghost templates on 2 pages. To print the ghosts, click on the picture of the ghosts. Or you can download it to your computer.

Or you can draw ghost shapes with a black marker on white paper.

Cut out the ghost shapes. Cut both the outside and inside lines of the ghost. You want a ghost template or stencil. See picture below.

To make it easy to cut out the middle of the ghost, gently fold paper in half and then cut a slit. This makes it easy to get your scissors inside the outline.

Next, cut the white tissue paper into small squares. Don’t worry, the squares don’t have to be the same size. You can even have your child rip the construction paper into small pieces, if they are too young to use scissors.

Then, cut a piece of contact paper a little larger than your ghost template. Carefully, peel off the backing.

Place the ghost outline black side down on the sticky side of the contact paper.

Then add your squares of white tissue paper. Don’t worry about going outside the lines, it will be trimmed.

When you are done adding the tissue paper, cover your design with contact paper, sticky side down. Press down to smooth the contact paper over your suncatcher ghost.

Then, cut along your ghost outline to cut away the excess contact paper, this will also trim the excess tissue paper.

Turn your ghost suncatcher over to see the black outline.

Or you can use tape to tape the suncatcher to your window.

Then, hang your suncatcher in your window and enjoy your Halloween ghost suncatcher.
