Pumpkin People Instructions
For a video tutorial on how to make this pumpkin craft, please watch the YouTube video below.
Step 1: Print the Template
Start by printing the free pumpkin person template by clicking on the link below. The pumpkin person template is for personal use or classroom use only. It cannot be altered or sold. Feel free to print as many copies as you need.
Step 2: Color the Pumpkins
Color or paint the 4 pumpkins. You don’t need to worry about staying in the lines because you will cut out the pumpkins.
We colored the pumpkins orange and the pumpkin’s stem green.
Step 3: Cut Out the Pumpkins
Using scissors, carefully cut out the pumpkin shapes from the template. These pumpkins will be the body parts of your pumpkin person.
Step 4: Make the Pumpkin’s Face
Cut out a pumpkin face from construction paper. We used black, but you could use yellow. You can make a friendly pumpkin face or a scary one.
Step 5: Glue the Pumpkin’s Face
Glue your pumpkin’s face to your large paper pumpkin. Or you can draw a face directly on your pumpkin.
Step 6: Prepare the Strips
Take your green construction paper and cut it into strips. These strips will be used for the arms and legs of your pumpkin person.
Step 7: Fold the Strips
Now, fold the green strips accordion-style. This means folding them back and forth, like a fan, to create a jointed effect for the arms and legs. Make sure the folds are not too close together to allow movement.
Step 8: Assemble the Pumpkin Person
Glue 1 green rectangle strip to each side of the large pumpkin. These will be the arms of your pumpkin person.
Glue 2 green rectangle strips to the bottom of the large pumpkin. These will be the legs of your pumpkin person.
Step 9: Add Hands and Feet
On the ends of the green strips, glue the smaller pumpkin cutouts to create hands and feet.
Step 8: Display Your Craft
Once your pumpkin person is complete, find a special spot to display your Halloween masterpiece.
Ways To Modify This Craft
