This handprint bat craft makes a keepsake Halloween decoration. It goes well with a school lesson about bats. Simple Halloween craft for kids. Includes free bat template.
My son first made this bat craft in preschool. I thought that it was such a cute keepsake Halloween craft that I decided to share it with you.
I never thought that I would say bats are cute, but then I saw my son’s bat handprint craft in his school backpack. It was the cutest bat I had ever seen.
So every year, we make handprint bats to decorate our house for Halloween. The first bat we made, I painted the kids hands black and used that as the handprint wings.
I now make this fall craft by tracing my kids’ hands on black paper and cutting out the handprints. Painted handprints never turn out for me and can be messy.
I hope your family enjoys this bat craft as much as I do .

Glue 2 googly eyes on the bat’s head.
Then, using a white crayon, draw a smile on your bat.

Ways To Modify This Craft
Instead of tracing around your child’s hands, you can use your child’s painted handprints. Paint your child’s hands with black washable paint and then press down on white paper. Cut around your child’s handprints and glue them to the sides of your bat.
