This paper plate pumpkin is an easy Halloween kids craft. The pumpkin’s eyes are made with your child’s handprints. Fun Halloween craft for preschool or kindergarten.
To start this craft, you just need a paper plate and orange paint. We used orange acrylic paint because it was left out from a previous project. I normally would use washable orange paint, I was lucky that the kids didn’t make a mess with the paint.
After we let the paint dry, I traced around my son’s hand on yellow construction paper. It makes this pumpkin craft extra special to use his handprints.
I have a weak spot for crafts made with my children’s handprints. It turns this ordinary paper plate pumpkin into a keepsake fall craft.
Several years ago, I was ambitious and traced around my son’s hands on a real pumpkin for the eyes. It wasn’t easy carving out my son’s hands on a pumpkin. Although, it turned out cute.
It is definitely easier to make a paper plate pumpkin with handprint eyes.
