This St. Patrick’s Day craft for kids combines both art and science. Your kids will enjoy making this wax resist watercolor shamrock craft.
My kids love coloring with a white crayon and painting over it with watercolors. They love how their design “magically” appears.
We made wax resist watercolor painted Valentine’s cards for Valentine’s Day. We decided to use the same technique to make Shamrocks for St. Patrick’s Day.
How the wax resist painting works: The wax from the crayon resists the watercolor leaving the white crayon to show. Basically, the watercolor doesn’t stick to the wax from the crayon.
It works best if you press down hard when coloring with the white crayon.
