Mosaic Handprint Turkey Craft For Kids

This mosaic handprint turkey is another easy Thanksgiving craft for kids. I love crafts made with my child’s handprint. You can make this turkey craft into a keepsake Thanksgiving card.

My kids love mosaic crafts. They love cutting paper into small squares. This is a great way to practice scissor skills.

If your child is too young to use scissors, you can have him tear the paper into small squares. This is a great craft to use scrap construction paper.

First, trace your child’s hand. If you are doing this in a classroom, you can pair the students and have each child trace her partner’s hand.

Depending on the age of your child, you may want to cut out your child’s handprint.

Then, glue the small squares of colored construction paper on your turkey. We used a glue stick, so it wasn’t as messy.

Give your turkey a face and legs and that’s it. A quick and easy Thanksgiving kids craft.

Mosaic Handprint Turkey Instructions

Trace around your child’s hand on white paper. Then, cut out your child’s handprint.

Next, cut or tear the colored paper into small squares. They do not all have to be the same size.

Red, orange, yellow and brown construction paper cut into small squares.

Next, glue the small squares of construction paper on the handprint. Let dry completely.

Then, cut any excess construction paper that is outside the handprint. It makes for a neater looking turkey.

The child's paper handprint is completely covered with red, orange, yellow, and brown construction paper squares.

Then, cut out an orange triangle for the turkey’s beak. Cut out a turkey’s wattle from red construction paper.

Next, cut 2 turkey feet from orange construction paper.

Next, glue the googly eye, beak and wattle on the thumb of your child’s handprint. Then, glue the turkey feet to the bottom of the mosaic hand.
