Make an easy name turkey craft with your kids. This printable Thanksgiving activity lets kids color, cut, and glue together a turkey while spelling their name on the feathers. Perfect for home or classroom.
Thanksgiving is one of my favorite times to craft with kids. This name turkey craft is such a fun and easy project. It’s perfect for the classroom, at home, or even during Thanksgiving break.
Kids love seeing their names on crafts. For this activity, they’ll color, cut, and glue a turkey together. Then, they’ll write one letter of their name on each feather. It’s a cute way to personalize their turkey and practice spelling their name at the same time.
You can print the turkey template on regular white paper or cardstock. I like using cardstock so it’s a little sturdier. Give the kids markers, crayons, or colored pencils to decorate their turkeys.
Once everything is colored, it’s time to cut and glue. The turkey’s body, wings, feet, and sign all fit together easily. Glue the feathers behind the turkey, spreading them out like a fan. Then glue the feet and the sign to the front.
The best part is filling in the sign. It says, “My name is:” with a blank line for kids to write their name. They’ll be so proud to show off their finished turkeys.
This craft also makes a great classroom display. Hang all the finished turkeys on a bulletin board or wall. It’s colorful, cheerful, and full of personality, just like the kids who made them.
If you’re doing this at home, you can make it part of your Thanksgiving decorations. Set up a craft table for kids while the grown-ups cook. It keeps kids busy.
This simple name turkey craft is a mix of learning, creativity, and fun. Kids get to spell their name and design a turkey.
