Thanksgiving is a time for us to reflect on what we are thankful for. This thankful turkey is a great way for your kids to think about thankfulness and gratitude.
This simple Thanksgiving craft is perfect for school, a Sunday school lesson, or a storytime craft.
To make this craft even easier, I included a free turkey template for you to use. Keep reading to print it out.
This craft is great for toddlers as well as older children.
Depending on the ages of your children, they may need help with the scissors. It is a great craft for little kids to practice their scissor skills.
After printing out the the template, you can use it as a guide to cut out the shapes from construction paper. Or your kids can color or paint each shape and then cut it out.
You can use any color construction paper for the feathers. This is a great way to use scrap construction paper. We used red, orange, and yellow.
Keep in mind that you don’t want to use too dark of a color for the feathers because the kids will then be writing what they are thankful for on the feathers. Too dark of a feather color will make it hard to read the words.
After the feathers are cut out, your kids will then write what they are thankful for on the feathers. I love reading what my kids are thankful for.
If you are making this turkey craft with your students, these make wonderful decorations for a bulletin board or hallway.
