How to Make a Rectangle Turkey
For a video tutorial for the turkey craft, please watch the YouTube video below.
Step 1: Print
First, print out the free rectangle turkey template. Please note the template is three pages. See link below.
Step 2: Color
Use crayons, markers, or colored pencils to add color to each part of the turkey.
If you’d like to use construction paper, you can skip coloring and instead use the template pieces as patterns to cut out from the colored paper. We used construction paper to make our turkey.
Step 3: Cut
Carefully cut out each piece.
Step 4: Glue
Now the fun part—putting it all together. Here’s how:
- Body: Start with the large square. This will be the turkey’s body.
- Face: Glue the eyes, beak, and wattle onto the large square to create the turkey’s face.
- Feathers: Next, glue the rectangle feathers around the sides and top of the square body. Arrange them in a fan shape to make a colorful tail.
- Wings: Glue one wing on each side of the large square body.
- Legs: Finally, attach the two small rectangle legs to the bottom of the large square.
Step 5: Add Details
To finish, draw toes on each leg to add a fun detail. You can even add extra designs or patterns on the feathers if you want your turkey to stand out.
