This mosaic leaf craft makes a festive fall decoration. Hang these colorful leaves in your classroom or on a door or window. Includes free printable leaf templates.
Your kids will develop their fine motor skills while gluing on small pieces of colored paper. This fall kids craft is perfect for toddlers, preschoolers and kindergarteners.
I love that this fall kids craft uses scrap construction paper. I keep a pile of construction paper scraps, I hate to throw away paper that only half of it was used.
I used my scraps from my pile for this craft. You don’t need many construction paper squares.
Depending on the age of your child, your child can cut out the squares. This will help with his scissor practice. The squares do not need to be the same size.
Or you can rip the construction paper into small squares.
I have included a free printable leaf template to make this fall kids craft even easier for you to make. See link below.
This fall craft for kids also helps with developing fine motor skills. Your child will have to concentrate to pick up the small squares of construction paper and glue them to the leaf.
I found it easy to use a glue stick and apply glue to the leaf and then add the construction paper squares.

Mosaic Leaf Instructions
Draw leaf shapes on your sheet of white paper. You can trace a leaf from your yard if you want.
Or you can print the free leaves template that we used. To print, click on the picture or download it to your computer and then print.
Then, cut out the leaf pattern.
Then, cut the red, orange, and yellow construction paper into small squares. You can use scrap colored paper.
Next, add glue to your paper leaf. We used a glue stick. Put your colored squares on the glue that is on the paper leaf. If you want a traditional mosaic leaf, leave white space between each colored square.
If needed, you can cut away any squares that are hanging over the leaf. We had to do this for our leaves.
I hope you enjoy making this mosaic leaf fall craft with your kids.
