How To Make A Paper Plate Dinosaur
For a video tutorial on how to make a paper plate dinosaur, please watch the YouTube video below.
Step 1: Paint.
We started by painting a paper plate. You can use any color. My son chose green, yellow, and brown. Let it dry before moving on.
Also, paint the two toilet paper tubes. Let dry completely.

Step 2: Cut out the dinosaur’s body.
Once the paint has dried, cut the painted paper plate in half. One half will be the dinosaur’s body and the other half will be used for the tail, neck and head.

Step 3: Cut out the dinosaur’s head and tail.
Then, cut out the shape of your dinosaur’s neck and head, and tail from one of the halves of the painted paper plate.

Step 4: Glue.
Glue the dinosaur’s head and neck to one end of the paper plate half. Glue the tail to the other end of the paper plate half.

Next, apply glue to the inside rim of the paper plate where the legs will attach. Carefully place the toilet paper tubes onto the glue and hold them in place until they are secure. You can also reinforce the glue with tape for extra durability.
Let the glue dry completely. Once the glue is dry, your paper plate dinosaur will stand upright and be ready for playtime or display.

Step 6: Add a googly eye.
Finally, add the googly eye to your dinosaur’s face. You can use any size or shape of googly eye you like.

That’s it! Your dino is ready to stomp around.
Ways To Modify This Dinosaur Kids Craft
If you want, you can create spikes for your dinosaur. To make the spikes, cut out a series of triangles from construction paper. You can make the triangles any size. Then, glue the triangles onto the top of the dinosaur’s back, starting from the head and working your way down towards the tail.
