This paper plate snowman is an easy winter craft for kids. This makes a cute decoration for a bedroom door. You probably already have all of the supplies needed.
My son had the idea to make a paper plate snowman when we were making the handprint Christmas tree craft. He saw the paper plates in our craft room and said he was going to make a snowman with them.
This would be a fun craft to make on a cold, winter afternoon.
We found it easier to tape the paper plates together instead of gluing them.
We had 3 black buttons in our craft collection, so we used them for the snowman’s buttons.
For the eyes and mouth, we cut circles from black construction paper. If you have black beads or buttons, you could use them. I like to use what I have when I make crafts.
We have a lot of sticks in our backyard, so we used sticks for the snowman’s arms. If you don’t have sticks, you could use brown chenille stems or construction paper.
We hung our completed snowman on my son’s bedroom door. I am impressed with the way it turned out.
My son is a minimalist when it comes to crafts. He doesn’t like a lot of decorations. You can add a scarf and other decorations to your snowman.

Paper Plate Snowman Instructions
Tape 3 paper plates together in the shape of a snowman. Turn snowman over.
To make the snowman’s hat: cut a square and a long rectangle from black construction paper. Glue the square to the center of the rectangle to make a hat shape. See picture below.
Glue 1 stick to each side of the snowman.
Next, glue the hat to the top of the paper plate snowman.
Then, tape sticks to each side of the snowman. We used sticks that we found in our yard. Or you could use brown construction paper to make sticks.
Cut circles from the black construction paper. This will be the eyes and mouth. Cut a triangle from orange construction paper (this will be the carrot nose).
Then, glue the eyes, nose, and mouth to the top paper plate.
Glue 3 buttons on the middle paper plate.
If you want, you can add decorations to your snowman.
I hope you enjoy making this paper plate snowman with your kids.
