This handprint Christmas tree makes a keepsake craft. Your kids will have fun turning their handprints into trees and then decorating them.
Depending on the size of your child’s hand, you may be able to turn this craft into a cute Christmas card.
This Christmas kids craft will also make a great gift for parents or grandparents. You can put the finished project in a nice frame so it can be treasured always.
This craft is easy to make and you may already have the supplies.
Start by tracing your child’s hand and cutting out 3 handprints. Older children will be able to trace their own hand and cut it out.
You can use the art supplies that you have at your house to decorate the paper trees. My son painted ornaments with Q-tips and my daughter used stickers.
To make this craft extra special, you can put fingerprint ornaments on the tree. Just press your child’s finger in washable paint and then press the painted finger on the tree.
My kids loved decorating the tree the best. My son wanted a heart on the top of his tree and my daughter used a traditional star. Remember with art, there isn’t a right or wrong way.

Handprint Christmas Tree Instructions
Trace your child’s hand on green construction paper. Cut out 3 handprints.
Then, cut out a small rectangle from the brown construction paper. This will be the tree trunk.
Next, glue the brown rectangle on the white paper near the bottom.
Then, glue the 3 handprints into a tree shape. Place 2 handprints so the palms of the hands are touching. Place 1 handprint in the center. See picture below.
Have fun decorating your tree. You can use markers, paint, or stickers. Or you could not decorate the tree. I think it also looks good without decorations.
I hope you enjoy making this handprint Christmas tree craft with your kids.
