This super simple crepe paper Christmas wreath makes a perfect decoration for a door or window. Easy Christmas craft for kids of all ages.
This Christmas wreath craft can be made at home or school. Depending on the ages of your children, you may need to cut out the center of the paper plate.
We painted our paper plate green so the white paper plate wouldn’t show through. This can be an optional step depending on how much time you have. We used a thin layer of washable paint and it seemed to dry fairly quickly.
My kids wanted to scrunch the crepe paper before putting it on the wreath. I think this was their favorite part. You can always leave the crepe paper in squares and glue them on.
That is what I love about crafting. There isn’t a right way or a wrong way to do it. You just want to make sure you are having fun and using your creativity.
Also, you can use supplies that you have on hand. You can either use tissue paper or crepe paper. We had leftover crepe paper decorations from a birthday party. I took the crepe paper off of the banisters and light fixture and used it for crafts.
These paper plate Christmas wreaths look great hanging on my daughter’s bedroom door.

Crepe Paper Christmas Wreath Instructions
Cut out the center of a paper plate. To make it easier to cut out the center, gently fold the paper plate in half and then use the scissors to cut a slit. Unfold the plate and continue to cut out the center.
Next, paint the paper plate ring green.
Then, cut green and red crepe paper into small squares. Don’t worry, they don’t need to be the same size.
Scrunch or ball up the crepe paper. Then, glue onto the green paper plate ring.
Keep going. Sporadically add red crepe paper berries to your wreath.
Use a hole punch to punch a hole in the top of the paper plate Christmas wreath. Put a small piece of yarn through the hole and tie a loop.
Hang your crepe paper Christmas wreath and enjoy!
