This is a recycled craft, it is made from old marker caps. We have a lot of old markers in a bag waiting to be recycled.

At the end of the school year the teacher sends home the kids’ markers and usually half of them are dried out.

I save them because once a year, the school has marker recycling. The old markers are recycled into new markers.

This Christmas candy ornament craft uses the old marker caps.

My kids love candy. It seems like once its Halloween, we have candy until March. Halloween candy, then Christmas candy, then Valentine candy.

My daughter loves Christmas and she loves candy. Guess what? She loved this Christmas ornament craft. She wanted to make a lot because she wanted to decorate the whole tree with these candy ornaments.

We usually put a small tree in the kids rooms and I told her she can decorate it how she wants. She started making more candy ornaments with a smile on her face.

Tear off a small piece of plastic wrap. Roll the marker in the plastic wrap 3-4 times to wrap the plastic wrap around the marker.

Twist the ends of the plastic wrap to make it look like candy.

Then, tie a piece of yarn around 1 end of your candy ornament. Tie a loop to make a hanger for your ornament.

Hang your DIY candy ornament on your Christmas tree and enjoy.

Ways To Adapt This Craft

You can tie small ribbons around the ends of the ornament to make them fancier. We were going to do that, but we found it to be difficult for the kids to tie the small ribbons.
