Easy shape Christmas tree craft that is perfect for toddlers, preschoolers or kindergartners. I included a free printable Christmas tree template to make this craft easier for you.
This build a Christmas tree craft is perfect for younger kids who are learning shapes. While making this Christmas kids craft, ask your child to name the shapes. You can even ask them to name the colors.
I love crafts that can double as a learning opportunity. Learning should be fun.
Kids can practice their scissor skills cutting out the different shapes and also work on their fine motor skills while gluing their Christmas tree together.
I did not include small circles for the ornaments as I thought they would be too hard for young kids to cut out.
Your child can use his imagination to decorate the tree. You can use crayons, paint, stickers, or jewel stickers to decorate the tree. We used jewel stickers.

How To Make The Christmas Tree
Print the free shape Christmas tree template. See link below.
Using the shape tree template as a stencil, cut out the shapes on colored paper. We used green for the triangles, yellow for the star, and brown for the rectangle.
Next, glue the three triangles in a tree shape on a piece of paper. Glue the large triangle for the bottom of the tree, then the medium triangle for the middle of the tree and the small triangle for the top of the tree. Overlap the triangles as much as you would like.
Then, glue the brown rectangle at the bottom of the tree. This will be your tree’s stump.
Glue the yellow star at the top of your tree. Don’t forget to ask your child about the shapes as he is gluing them.
Then let your child’s imagination run wild as he decorates his Christmas tree. We used jeweled stickers.
I hope you enjoy making this build a Christmas tree craft. This can also be used to make a Christmas card for friends and family.

Ways To Modify This Christmas Craft
Instead of cutting out the shapes on construction paper, you can color in the shapes. Then, cut them out and glue them onto paper in a tree shape.
