Grab your scrap construction paper and make this easy paper mosaic Christmas tree craft with your kids today. I included a free tree template to make this an easy Christmas craft for your kids.
I love crafts that use scrap supplies. This Christmas craft is a great way to use leftover construction paper.
Today’s craft helps with your child’s scissor skills and fine motor skills. The great thing about this craft is that the “paper tiles” don’t need to be the exact same size, which is nice for younger children practicing their scissor skills.
Older elementary kids will also enjoy this craft. Once completed, the paper mosaic Christmas trees will make a colorful decoration to a classroom bulletin board.
So, you may be wondering what a paper mosaic is. A paper mosaic is a pattern or image made from small pieces of colored paper.

How To Make A Paper Mosaic Christmas Tree
Print the free printable Christmas tree template (see link below).
Cut out the Christmas tree.
Cut construction paper into small squares. The squared don’t have to be the same size. We used 2 shades of green construction paper. We used brown construction paper for the tree trunk.
Next, glue the small squares of construction paper to the tree. We found it easier to spread the glue (using a glue stick) to the paper tree.
Once completed, you may need to turn your tree over and cut the excess paper tiles.
Once completed, we added colored circles to our tree for ornaments. To make it easier, I used a hole punch to cut out the circle shapes.
Then, cut a star shape from construction paper and glue it to the top of the tree. We used yellow construction paper.
I hope you enjoy making this paper mosaic Christmas tree craft with your kids.
