This shape reindeer craft helps your child learn shapes. Perfect Christmas craft for toddlers and preschoolers. My elementary aged children also enjoyed this craft.
When you are making this craft, ask your child:
- What shape is the reindeer’s head and body?
- What shape are the reindeer’s legs?
- What shape are the reindeer’s eyes?
This will help reinforce shapes that your child is learning. I love turning a craft activity into a learning activity.
You can also discuss the colors with your child. Ask what color is the reindeer?
I made this craft with my 2nd grade son. He already knows his shapes and colors, but he asked me what do reindeer eat? So, we looked it up on the internet during craft time.
This reindeer craft goes well with the book Rudolph The Red Nose Reindeer. We of course had to give our reindeer a red nose.

Step 7: Next, glue the rectangles to the large triangle. See picture below.
Step 8: We used sticks that we found in the yard for the reindeer’s antlers. Or you can use brown chenille stems. Glue 2 small sticks to the top of the small triangle.
