This Halloween craft is a super easy craft for a classroom activity or a library craft. Just print the free pumpkin templates and have the kids color the pumpkins.
Kids can practice their scissor skills by cutting out the pumpkins and their fine motor skills by gluing the pumpkins to a circle wreath.
For this pumpkin wreath, we started by cutting the center of the paper plate. Depending on the age of your child, an adult may have to cut the paper plate.
Don’t worry if you don’t have a paper plate, you can cut a circle from cardboard (cereal boxes work great).
Then, we painted the paper plate brown. You can paint the paper plate any color you like. This step is optional, you don’t need to paint the paper plate.

Then, color or paint the pumpkins. Don’t worry if your child doesn’t color within the lines, the pumpkins will be cut out.
You can use crayons, colored pencils, watercolors, or washable paint to add color to the pumpkins.
Then, cut out the pumpkins and glue to the paper plate wreath.
To make a spooky Halloween wreath, use a black marker to add faces to the paper pumpkins.
Then, add some string and hang your paper plate pumpkin wreath on a door or cabinet.

Paper Plate Pumpkin Wreath Supplies
- Free printable pumpkin template (see link below)
- Paper plate
- Paint, crayons, or colored pencils
- Scissors
- Glue
- Hole punch
- String
Pumpkin Wreath Instructions
Cut the center out of a paper plate. This will be your wreath shape.
Next, paint the paper plate wreath. We used brown paint. Let the paint dry completely.
Print the free printable pumpkin template. To print, click on the picture or download to your computer.
This pumpkin template is for personal or classroom use only and cannot be edited. Feel free to print as many copies as you need.

Next, color or paint your paper pumpkins. We used orange and green paint to paint the pumpkins.
Then, cut out the pumpkins.
Next, glue the pumpkins to the paper plate wreath.
Using the hole punch, punch a hole in the top of the paper plate. Make sure to put the hole in the paper plate and not the paper pumpkin.
Put string in the hole and tie in a loop.
If you want, you can use a black marker to draw faces on the pumpkins. This step is optional.
Hang your fall pumpkin wreath and enjoy.
