Once upon a Halloween night, in a cozy little craft room, there was a magical atmosphere filled with giggles and excitement. Meet Bailey, a creative and spirited little girl, and her trusty sidekick, Shadow, a curious black cat.

As the moon cast shadows through the window, Bailey and Shadow decided it was the perfect time for a Halloween crafting adventure. They had heard about an easy craft project that promised to turn an ordinary wine cork into a friendly bat for Halloween.

With the free printable template in one hand and a pair of scissors in the other, Bailey got to work. She cut out the bat’s wings and ears from a sheet of black construction paper. Shadow, always eager to lend a paw, supervised the process from his perch on the craft table.

With the wings and ears expertly cut out, Bailey carefully glued them onto the wine cork, transforming it into an adorable little bat. Shadow couldn’t resist batting at the googly eyes with his paw, adding his own playful touch to the craft.

The cork bat, now complete with its googly eyes, seemed to come to life right before their eyes. Bailey and Shadow giggled with excitement as they welcomed their new Halloween bat into the family.

From that crafty Halloween night onwards, the cork bat found its place among the Halloween decorations in their home. It watched over them during the Halloween festivities.

Bailey and Shadow knew that their crafting journey had created not only a charming cork bat but also wonderful memories that would last a lifetime. After all, that’s the true magic of crafting – making memories and spreading joy one craft at a time.

Step 2: Cut Out the Bat’s Wings and Ears

Then, take the printed bat template and place it on a sheet of black construction paper. While firmly holding it in place, carefully cut along the outline of the bat’s wings and ears.

Optional step: You can paint your wine cork with black paint. Let paint dry completely.

Step 3: Glue the Bat’s Wings and Ears onto the Cork

Now, it’s time to give your wine cork a spooky makeover. Apply a small amount of glue to the back of the bat’s wings you just cut out and carefully press it onto the cork. You can get creative with the positioning—bats come in all shapes and sizes, after all!

Then, take the bat’s ears and fold a small tab from the bottom edge. Then, put glue on the folded edge and glue the ears to the top of the cork. This will make the ears look like they are standing on the middle of the cork.

Step 4: Add Googly Eyes

No bat is complete without its eyes. Take two googly eyes and glue them onto your cork bat. Place them wherever you like to give your bat its own unique personality. Maybe it’s cross-eyed or a little bit wonky – that’s what makes it special!
