Enjoy this easy Halloween art project with your kids. Make this Halloween bat pastel picture using our free printable bat pattern.
It is interesting, my memories of bats have nothing to do with Halloween. When I was younger, I remember swimming at the local swimming pool in the evenings and bats would be flying around the lights. I loved watching them.
Thinking about Halloween crafts, I knew I had to make this bat craft. It reminded me of watching the bats flying around the lights.
My daughter loves pastels, so we made this craft with pastels. You could also use chalk.
I included a free bat template you can use to make this craft easier. Feel free to draw your own bat if you like.
You can have your child cut out the bat outlines to practice his cutting skills or you could cut it out ahead of time.
We used painter’s tape to tape the bats to the paper. This made it easier to remove the bat template.
