This easy paper plate shamrock wreath makes a festive decoration for St. Patrick’s Day. The free shamrock template makes this kid’s craft super easy.
All you need to make this DIY shamrock wreath is a paper plate, construction paper, scissors, and glue. Painting the paper plate is an optional step.
We decided to paint our paper plate yellow to add more color to our St. Patrick’s Day wreath.
The free shamrock template (see link below) includes two different sizes of shamrocks. We made the larger shamrock dark green and the smaller shamrocks light green.
When you are finished making your wreath, you can hang it on a door or window for St. Patrick’s Day. You can even tape the handmade wreath to your child’s bedroom door.

How To Make A Paper Plate Shamrock Wreath

Cut out the center of a paper plate. To make it easier, gently fold the paper plate in half and cut out the center.
Paint the paper plate ring. This is an optional step. We painted the paper plate ring yellow.
Next, print the free shamrock template (see link below). Use the free shamrock printable as a stencil to cut out shamrocks from green construction paper. We used dark green and light green construction paper.
Next, glue the shamrocks onto the paper plate ring.
Using a hole punch, punch a hole in the top of the paper plate (not a shamrock). Put a piece of string through the hole and tie in a loop.
