These chenille stem heart wands are fun to make and kids love playing with them afterwards. Makes a perfect Valentine’s Day craft for a Valentine’s Day party.
My daughter loves princesses and princesses wands. This Valentine’s craft is so simple and only requires two items: chenille stems and beads.
For the Valentine’s Day party, I had different color chenille stems and lots of beads on the table. I showed the girls how to make a heart shape out of the chenille stem. Then I let their creativity and imagination take over.
It was so much fun. I don’t know if making the wands or playing with the wands was their favorite part. They seemed to enjoy both.
This would also be perfect for a kid’s Valentine’s Day school party. It could be princess heart wands for the girls and wizard wands for the boys.

Heart Wands Supplies:
- chenille stems
- beads (optional)
Heart Wands Instructions:
Add beads to 1 chenille stem.
Bend the beaded chenille stem into a heart shape.
Attach 1 chenille stem to the bottom of the heart (this makes the wand handle). I found if you fold the chenille stem in half and twist, it makes for a stronger wand handle.
You don’t need to add beads to your heart wand. You could just make a chenille stem heart and attach a chenille stem to the bottom of the heart.
I hope you enjoy making this DIY heart wand with your kids.
