This is another super simple Valentine’s Day craft for the kids. Few supplies are needed and chances are you may already have them at home.
I like to buy glue sticks during the back to school sales and I always buy extra to keep at home for crafts.
For younger kids, you can cut the hearts and strips of paper out ahead of time and just have the kids glue the heart people together. My son was having difficulty cutting out the hearts, so I had to cut the hearts for him.
My daughter, who is the creative one, decided to make a cat out of hearts instead of a heart person. I just let her creative juices flow and I don’t force her to make the craft look like how it is supposed to look.
She was describing to me what she was doing as she was doing it and honestly I didn’t see her vision of a cat until she was done. Her creativity amazes me. Anyone else have a creative child?

Paper Heart People Supplies:
- construction paper
- scissors
- glue stick
- googly eyes or markers to decorate your heart person (optional)
Paper Heart People Instructions:
Cut hearts of different sizes out of the construction paper. We used 1 big heart, 4 medium hearts and 3 smaller hearts.
Next, cut 4 strips from construction paper.
Then, fan fold the 4 strips of construction paper.
Glue 1 fan folded strip of construction paper to each side of the big heart for arms. Then, glue 1 fan folded strip of construction paper to each side of the bottom of the big heart for legs.
Next, glue the medium hearts to the end of the strips. These hearts will be the hands and feet.
Then, glue on hearts for the eyes, nose and mouth. Decorate your heart person with googly eyes or markers if desired.
My kids loved playing house with their heart people when they were finished with the craft. I hope you and your kids enjoy making this Valentine’s Day craft.
