Valentine’s Day is just around the corner, and this caterpillar makes the perfect Valentine’s craft. Whether you’re a teacher planning a classroom activity, a librarian organizing a craft session, or a parent looking for an easy at-home project, this free printable caterpillar template is the perfect choice.

Simply print the free printable template (see link below). Then color it with your favorite coloring medium, such as markers, crayons, or colored pencils. Then, cut out the caterpillar shapes and glue together. It is a super simple Valentine’s Day craft.

How To Make A Heart Caterpillar

Step 1: Print.

Start by printing out the free printable heart caterpillar template. See link below.

Step 2: Color.

Use your favorite coloring medium – crayons, markers, or colored pencils – to color the caterpillar’s body parts. We used red and pink markers.

Step 3: Cut.

Carefully cut out the caterpillar body parts along the outlined edges.

Step 4: Arrange and glue the hearts.

Take the five heart-shaped body parts and arrange them on a piece of paper. This will be the body for your caterpillar. Experiment with different arrangements until you find the one you like best.

Then, glue the heart-shaped body parts onto the paper. We used a glue stick.

Next, glue the caterpillar’s circle head to the body.

Step 5: Attach antennae and tiny hearts.

Glue on the antennae at the top of the caterpillar’s head. Don’t forget to add the tiny hearts at the ends of the antennae.

Step 6: Add a face.

Bring your heart caterpillar to life by gluing on googly eyes and drawing a friendly mouth.
