This keepsake handprint flag craft is a perfect kids craft for Memorial Day or Fourth Of July. This patriotic craft will be cherished for years.
Looking for a simple and fun patriotic craft? Try making a handprint flag. It’s a great patriotic activity for kids, and it makes a cute keepsake too.
We did this last weekend and had so much fun. My kids loved getting their hands messy with paint, and I loved how sweet the final flags turned out. This craft is perfect for Memorial Day, 4th of July, or Veterans Day.
My kids love it when I paint their hands. They giggle and say that it tickles. My daughter made 4 flags because she said it was fun. She is old enough to where she can paint her own hand.
You can write your child’s name and the year at the bottom. It makes a great memory to look back on.
Give it a try and enjoy some crafty, patriotic fun with your kids.

Handprint Flag Craft Instructions
Step 1: Paint your child’s fingers red. Paint the palm of your child’s hand blue.

Step 2: Next, press your child’s painted hand on a sheet of white paper. Make sure there is space between the fingers when you put his hand on the paper, this will be the white stripes. Let dry completely.

Step 3: Then, add white star stickers or use a stencil to paint white stars on the blue part of the flag.
If you don’t have white star stickers, you can paint white dots with Q tips on the blue part of the flag.
Step 4: Cut out your child’s painted handprint.

Step 5: Finally, glue your child’s flag handprint to a craft stick.

I hope you enjoy making this flag craft with your kids.

Ways To Modify This Craft
If you don’t want to paint your child’s hand, you can trace around your child’s hand. Then, paint your child’s fingers red and white and paint the palm blue. (You will be painting the paper, not your child’s hand).
