This clothespin hand turkey craft makes a festive Thanksgiving decoration for your table. Easy Thanksgiving craft that will be treasured for years.
We used these hand turkeys to decorate our table for Thanksgiving. Next year, I think we will put names on the turkeys and use them as name place holders for the table.
I love crafts that are made with my children’s handprints. I also tend to save all the crafts made with their handprints or footprints.
Painted handprint crafts never seem to work for me. I either put too thick or thin of a layer of paint on my child’s hand. When I press my child’s hand to the paper and remove the hand, the “handprint” doesn’t really look like a hand.
With this craft, I traced my daughter’s hand and then she painted the handprint. Since the handprint will be cut out, you don’t need to worry about staying in the lines.
We painted each finger a different color and painted the palm of the hand brown. Your child can paint her turkey hand how she wants. She can paint her fingers all the same color or use her favorite colors.
Each turkey craft will be unique to your child’s personality. That is why I love my children’s art projects, I can see their personality in their art.

Clothespin Hand Turkey Instructions
Trace your child’s hand on white paper.
Next, paint your child’s traced hand. We painted the fingers different colors for the feathers, and we painted the palm of the hand brown.
Next, cut out the painted hand.
Then, cut out a small circle from the brown construction paper. This will be your turkey’s head.
Then, glue the brown circle to the clothespin.
Cut a small diamond from the orange construction paper. Fold in half. This will be the turkey’s beak.
Cut a small hourglass shape from the red construction paper.
Glue 2 googly eyes, the beak, and the turkey’s wattle to the brown circle.
Finally, clip your child’s painted handprint inside the clothespin.
I hope you enjoy your clothespin hand turkey Thanksgiving craft.
