Make an adorable hand turkey with your child’s hand this Thanksgiving. This simple Thanksgiving craft for kids makes a keepsake decoration.
I love this keepsake hand turkey craft. I love crafts that are made from my children’s handprints. It always amazes me how much their hands grow in one year.
I frame my children’s holiday handprint or footprint crafts and I put them in my holiday decoration storage bin.
Every year when I decorate for the holidays, I can see how the kid’s hands have grown. It brings back great memories.
I put my children’s holiday framed artwork on the fireplace mantel each season. As an added bonus it is an inexpensive holiday decoration (I buy the frames at the Dollar Tree).
I hope your kids love making this craft. My kids loved gluing the feathers on the handprint turkey.

Hand Turkey Craft Instructions
Trace your child’s hand on white paper using a brown marker. My kids love having their hand traced.
Next, cut a small triangle from the orange construction paper for the turkey’s beak. Glue onto the thumb of the traced handprint.
Then, glue one googly eye on the thumb of the traced handprint. Then glue on a small, red oval for the turkey’s wattle.
Then, glue feathers on the handprint turkey.
Next, draw legs for the turkey handprint. I also colored the turkey’s head and body that was showing brown. Once it was completed, I wished I would have colored the hand brown before gluing on the feathers.
Don’t forget to put your child’s name and date on the turkey. I hope you enjoy making this hand turkey craft with your kids.
